Its old town is one of the best examples of medieval architecture in Europe and has been declared a<strong>\u00a0World Heritage Site<\/strong>in 1990. Particularly famous are the numerous\u00a0<strong>towers<\/strong>, built between the XI and XII century, which still sunk in the heart of the village.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2471&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; parallax_ratio=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;2470&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; parallax_ratio=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">The\u00a0<strong>panorama of San Gimignano<\/strong>\u00a0in the past was dominated by 72 tall towers; today it counts about a dozen, but this characteristic has in any case given the nickname of\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Middle Ages Manhattan&#8221;<\/strong>. Walking along the alleys of the town is an opportunity to immerse yourself in local culture and tradition and to admire the\u00a0<strong>Tuscan countryside<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIn addition to the architectural richness of the village and the numerous works of art collected in its museums, San Gimignano is also known for the excellent production of\u00a0<strong>Vernaccia<\/strong>. This\u00a0<strong>white wine<\/strong>\u00a0is only produced here since 1200 and was then marketed throughout the region.
