The panorama of San Gimignano in the past was dominated by 72 tall towers; today it counts about a dozen, but this characteristic has in any case given the nickname of “Middle Ages Manhattan”. Walking along the alleys of the town is an opportunity to immerse yourself in local culture and tradition and to admire the Tuscan countryside.
In addition to the architectural richness of the village and the numerous works of art collected in its museums, San Gimignano is also known for the excellent production of Vernaccia. This white wine is only produced here since 1200 and was then marketed throughout the region. The Vernaccia di San Gimignano perfectly accompanies the traditional dishesof the area and is ideal for aperitifs.
